Abatons
Healing Sanctuaries (Asclepieia), at Epidaurus, Kos, Athens, Corinth, Pergamon and many other places, was refuges for the ill, places of hope and reassurance, where priests guided them through rituals of purification and incubation (Enkoimesis) during which they spent the night in one of the sanctuary’s sacred buildings (Abaton)
the stage of
Incubation
The healing properties of seawater and the benefits of being on, near or in the sea have been felt since ancient times. Also in antiquity and later, the ritual process of incubation as a therapeutic practice was very common. The incubation was the final stage of a process of physical and mental purification.
By using our super yachts as Abatons, we have access into an invigorating landscape, with clear, clean water, plenty of sunshine and a tranquility only to be found away from the cities.
Onboard starts the process of Incubation, with comfort in absolute privacy
Guests are entering a stage of pure relaxation when entering the vessel. Bathing in the Swimming Temples of Asclepius plays the main role on that stage. Calm sleep, tranquility, and unwinding are the main goals of this stage.
